А Movie – Gil Scott-Heron

Favorite brother Robert Gordon on the bass
And the king Larry, our rhythm master from JA, on percussion
And we leave you with this idea here, say

Yeah, say
You don’t have be in no hurry
You don’t ever really have to worry
You don’t have to think about how you feel
Just keep repeating that none of this is real
And if you’re thinking
That something’s wrong
Well, just remember that
It won’t be too long
Before the director (Hee!)
Cuts the scene

Hey, this ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life, say
And everybody ought to know
This ain’t really a life
What do you, life like that, say
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t nothing but a reel-to-reel, say
This ain’t really really really really really really real
This ain’t really a life
Everybody ought to know
This ain’t really a life, say
That ain’t the way your life would go
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t nothing but a reel-to-reel, say
This ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really, say
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Really a life
Really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really, ain’t really

Hey, say

Thank you very much for coming out to join us on behalf of myself, and on behalf of all the members in the group: Kim Jordan, Ron Holloway, Robert Gordon, Larry McDonald, and Rodney Youngs. My name’s Miles Davis, thank you very much

In all seriousness, my name is Gil Scott-Heron. Thank you very much, we appreciate it, thank you

This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Ain’t really a life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie
This ain’t really a life
Thank you very much

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You remember “B Movie”? What was that one we just did, “A Movie”?
(“Re-Ron”!)
We don’t need no Re-Ron. Hahahaha. We don’t, we don’t get one too. Uh, on behalf of, of, of our group, as a tribute to [?] and their twenty-fifth anniversary of performance here, uh, we would like to a do a song based on a rhythm called “[?].” And [?] is a rhythm of celebration, because, indeed, for a show to last this long, to have this strong a following, and to have this many people who will come out to contribute to it, it must need to be celebrated. It is something to be celebrated. Many music shows all across Europe, across the United States, are no longer, are no longer on the air. They have not found the vitality. They have not found the spirit. They have not found the technical people to support them as [?] has been supported. So we play this for Felix, for Michael [?], for all of the people here that we have met that have treated us so wonderfully since we’ve been here, we thank you very much. On behalf of us, to twenty-five more. We hope you have twenty-five or twenty-five times twenty-five. Always a place for people to look to see music. As we are, as, as, as nice as the program has been. We thank you. We appreciate you. We appreciate the opportunity to be here. We do a song for you based on a rhythm called [?][?] is the rhythm of rebirth and regeneration. The rhythm of celebration, the rhythm called [?]
