I grew up on a Kansas farm
The days were tough and the nights were warm
We didn’t have a lot, but we had plenty
Raised up on those small town ways
And I love to think about those days
When I was young, wild and free
Then I look at whats going on today
and those good times seem so far away

I was country born and country raised
and I am set in my country ways

I spent time in an Army uniform
in the desert sun back in 91
and we showed em all how to fight
Gave 10 good years went on my way
And if you ask me still today
proud of what I did to keep us free
Now I’m a soldier til the day I die
Where the stars and stripes and eagles fly

I was country born and country raised
and I am set in my country ways

Oh and I’ll stand up for what I believe
No matter what the cost
Rise for the flag, and kneel for the cross
say a prayer for those we lost

Now this nation that I’ve always loved
Has somehow gotten lost
So eager to judge the other man
Always looking left and right
Instead of looking up
In God we trust, united we must stand

Believe that’s right
