The Dragonfly Queen – …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
By
That December we met on the Eastern shore on a boat You were singing and drinking and wanted to let go But the water was rising and it threatened to drag us down Just us alone on the river, all our friends had all left town
And so we stumbled ahead and assembled some sign of a home What began as a dream soon became great labor of love And as we parted our ways we held on to the strain of a doubt That we would never again be the same from within or without
And as you stare into his eyes you can tell there’s a sort of a glow He’ll be wiser than us someday and we should know Will he forgive us our sins, will he forgive us our failures and doubts Will he look back on us and wish we could have figured it out
