Tree – Good Morning

Tree Who we depend on when we die
People we’ve spent most of our lives with
And I’ve been thinking of a word
‘Bout all the hours spent in time
If only one face springs to mind
Please be wary, please be kind, and see
That I will just be waiting here
Hoping to brighten up your life

And I’ve been thinking ’bout some ways
That we can go about it
But it’s not the same
If you’re in pain
And need some space
I’ll try to help, if I can, at all
Who we depend on in our lives
One’s who bring safety throughout strife
And I’ve been thinking of a name
Of a face that occupies my time
If that face begins to fade
And time rots away my body
I will grow up into a tree
And stand to brighten up your life

But I’ve been thinking ’bout some ways
That we can go about it
Still, it’s not the same
When you’re in pain
I’ll try to help you, if it’s there
